Lasers are integral to many military and aerospace operations. From performing key maintenance duties to component identification, lasers are undeniably valuable to these industries. The right laser marking systems are key to meeting regulatory standards.
A key use is in Item Unique Identification (IUID) marking. Aerospace part marking helps you comply with AS9132 and MIL-STD-130 standards by creating permanent, human-readable text and high-contrast 2D Data Matrix codes.
Laser marking for military and defense also involves the marking of insulation of complex wiring harnesses, making them easy to trace during assembly and maintenance. It extends to internal quality control with tools and gauges, allowing you to etch identification and calibration data onto them.
Aircraft laser marking allows you to track and identify every component, from turbine blades to avionics enclosures, with serial numbers, part numbers, logos and Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) codes. As these parts age and accumulate contaminants, you can use laser ablation to clean and prepare them for repairs without damaging the underlying component.
“At Daniel Defense, we have been extremely happy with Laser Marking Technologies. From their Engineering and Sales folks to their Customer Support Teams we have felt like partners from the beginning. They have great machine quality and outstanding customer service. LMT has never been more than a phone call or email away. We have significantly improved our laser marking and engraving capabilities, as well as drastically improved our deep engraving times and the quality of our marking and engraving.”

You can laser engrave products for various purposes using different techniques. Whether for reliable identification, material protection or efficient production, laser engraving has several solutions to suit your requirements.
We have experienced software engineers who can assist with connections to SAP, HANNA, Epicore, Orchid, Oracle and other databases. Connecting with these databases ensures the correct serial code is permanently engraved onto each unique firearm. It also prevents duplication, matching with the serial number in your system.
Efficiently add your brand logo, designs and textures to firearms. After manufacturing, our engraving and laser etching systems can quickly decorate the gun barrel and components with intricate details.
Create marks on Cerakote-coated firearms without affecting the underlying material. Our laser etching and engraving systems use laser imaging to add decoration and serial codes to Cerakote for personalization and firearm identification.
Utilize laser welding systems during production to weld components together quickly and efficiently. This allows you to create high-precision, intricate welds with tight tolerances. Laser welding has a minimal heat-affected zone (HAZ) so only a small area is heat-affected, reducing the risk of damage and distortion. Additionally, additive material isn’t necessary for typical laser welding processes.
